IDC shares the best framework for fighting back against rising cybercrime

Learn why IDC says it’s critical for businesses to adopt a cyber resilience framework.

97% of organizations with 500 or more employees report connectivity-related challenges from an IT perspective, with a full 48% saying their biggest challenge is data security. That’s according to IDC reporting* on the challenges companies face with an increasingly remote workforce. Of course, it’s not all bad news. IDC lays out a 6-step approach to adopting a cyber resilience framework. And for them, a winning formula combines a partnership with a managed service provider along with steps an SMB can take together with their MSP.

MSPs can bring this data to their customers and prospects to show the importance of tackling the very real problem of cybercrime. A cyber resilience framework can help prevent some of the direst consequences stemming from a breach, including:

  • 51% of businesses that fell victim to ransomware suffered disruptions of 1 day or a few days

  • 37% of businesses that fell victim to ransomware suffered disruptions of a week or more

  • 30% of respondents that paid a ransom in the last 12 months forked over more than $100,000

IDC throwing its weight behind the importance of adopting a cyber resilience framework should put SMBs on notice. With the right preparation, they can thwart the rising rates of crippling cyberattacks.
