What does this mean for Mitel MiCloud Connect Customers?

Mitel MiCloud Connect customers should not expect any significant changes in the short term; MiCloud Connect will still be fully operational and supported. However, there will be incentives for Mitel Cloud customers to migrate to RingCentral's MVP cloud solution. These incentives will include pricing, flexible contract mitigation, improved security, service reliability, and broad enterprise app integration that will continue making your communication with your customers more efficient and productive.

RingCentral and Mitel made a clear statement mentioning that they will work with partners and customers to make this transition according to each client's needs and at an appropriate pace; however, specific timeframes and milestones have not been set.

Currently Mitel and Ring Central are working together so Mitel 6900 and 400 series telephones will be certified for the RingCentral MVP platform. Per the official press release, they expect Mitel telephones to be certified for Ring Central during the first semester of 2022.

We recommend connecting with one of our consultants to discuss further. Our consultants can provide additional details about the migration process and go over the different options you may have based on your specific scenario. TeleSwitch has a long relationship with Mitel and RingCentral, and this can provide you with additional peace of mind and ensure a smooth transition.

What does this mean for Mitel MiVoice Connect Customers (On-Prem Systems)

If you are a Mitel MiVoice Connect Customer, then there is nothing to worry about. The RingCentral and Mitel partnership doesn’t impact Mitel Connect customers directly, and your support agreement provides for ongoing support through Teleswitch.

RingCentral acquired the intellectual property and rights of Mitel’s CloudLink technology and platform. This acquisition is expected to provide additional enhancement since it will enable on-premises customers to have a phased hybrid approach if they decide to migrate to the RingCentral platform.

Supposedly this technology acquisition will also allow you to continue using your Mitel Connect platform as your call control system while enjoying RingCentral’s application for collaborating and communications – such as meetings, videos, chat, and SMS.

Similar incentives will be offered for Connect users to migrate to Ring Central’s platform. Connect with our consultants further to discuss your plans and objectives regarding your business communications. TeleSwitch has been a Mitel and a Ring Central partner for many years and has actively supported customers in both platforms with implementation, project management, technical support, and training services. Our goal is to have you fully covered, support your Mitel Connect system, and ensure a smooth transition if you decide to migrate your communications to the cloud at a comfortable pace.

TeleSwitch partners with Mitel and RingCentral, offering unparalleled leading unified communications and collaboration solutions that are easy to adopt and simple to use, allowing you to connect and communicate with your clients while having a successful digital transformation of your business.
